- At some point, it was noticed that my band supported the left party in my country. We were very active: we launched an Amazon project in 2014 to save the rainforest, we also worked with a local institution to preserve the Bogotá River and to green the area around the river with 1800 new trees. We played a certain role in the Peace Process with the FARC guerrilla, participated in the main concert, and consistently sought to expose the President's wrongdoing. Then, during a massive social strike, with a million people taking to the streets to demand the President's resignation due to police brutality, we emerged as one of the leaders of the protest. However, this took a toll on our work. We began losing job opportunities, were banned from concerts, and faced threats on social media. That's why we started searching for an opportunity to move to Germany.
- I feel really well right now. I feel safe. I feel like people here help us to become part of the local community, part of the society. Everything is really fine.
- I just miss my father. I miss my friends.The nice thing is that I have made good friends since moving and the feeling of home and family has started to return.
- I think I’m not coming back. I think I’m going to stay here as now it feels like I belong here.
- No one in my family has lived in exile before.
